Valplast Dentures

What Are Valplast Dentures?

Valplast dentures are an example of flexible partial dentures and are among the most reputable names in dental treatment having over 50 years of boosting patients’ confidence. They use durable and lightweight nylon resin material and give a more natural appearance compared to other traditional acrylic dentures.

While standard dentures use metal clasps that are visible from the outside, the Valplast uses invisible clasps. They are also translucent on the part touching the gums making them blend into your smile discretely. Each Valplast denture also comes with a lifetime guarantee against fracturing or breakage.

How Are Valplast Dentures Different to Normal Dentures?

There are a few key differences that make Valplast a popular choice:

  • No metal clasps – The flexible material grips around the teeth naturally, so there’s no visible metalwork
  • Smaller and lighter – Valplast dentures are usually smaller than acrylic dentures, leaving the roof or floor of your mouth free. This makes eating more enjoyable and feels more comfortable overall
  • Flexible fit – You place them in hot water for a few seconds before wearing. The material softens and moulds snugly into place, reducing the need for denture adhesives
  • Natural appearance – Available in different gum shades to match your skin tone, and the transparent base blends in with your gums
  • Durable – The nylon resin is virtually unbreakable in everyday use

Valplast dentures can sometimes cost a little more than traditional dentures, but most patients feel the comfort and natural look make it well worth it.

Who Can Have Valplast Dentures?

Valplast dentures are very versatile. They can be used to replace one tooth, a few teeth, or several across different areas of the mouth. They’re also a good option for patients who have allergies to acrylic or metals.

Valplast dentures are also a good denture for patients who are looking for smaller more discreet dentures as they do not have any metal hooks.

What Does the Process Involve?

Getting Valplast dentures is straightforward and usually takes two to three visits:

  1. Consultation – One of our dentists will assess your missing teeth and let you know if Valplast dentures are suitable for your case. If so, digital scans of your mouth will be taken.
  2. Bite registration (if needed) – For larger dentures, a second visit may be needed to measure your bite and occlusion. Smaller dentures usually don’t need this step.
  3. Fitting – Your finished Valplast denture is fitted, adjusted, and you’re ready to go.

Looking After Your Valplast Dentures

The strong nylon resin makes Valplast dentures very hard to break, but they still need looking after. Our dentists will advise you on the best cleaning products and routine to keep them in good condition.

Some dentists recommend removing dentures at night, but you can wear your Valplast denture while you sleep as long as you maintain good denture and oral hygiene.
