A new waterless toothbrush has been invented.

A toothbrush which does not require the user to have access to water has been invented by United Treatment Centers in the US.waterless brush

Jennifer Lee wrote in a blog for the New York Times that the Aquafree Toothbrush uses liquid toothpaste that can be loaded into the brush via a cartridge.

The system lasts for 30 brushes before the cartridge needs to be replaced and does not require the use of water.

Brush inventor Todd Cinelli commented: “We’ve had dialogue from heads of states, all the way down to privates in Afghanistan emailing us … The experience has been kind of mind-blowing.”

Elsewhere, a new combination water and laser system has been developed which could help patients get over their fear of the dentist’s chair.

Waterlase works to remove decay with less pain than traditional drilling and also helps numb the tooth during the process, making the treatment less daunting for patients who have cavities.
