UK dentists raise a quarter of a million pounds for charity. The My Dentist group have been involved in fundraising events up and down the country in a bid to raise money for Cancer Research UK. It is now estimated that Cancer will affect one in two people. Therefore, it is essential that life-saving research is funded. Due to CRUK receiving no government funding it is down to people like the My Dentists team to raise money.
The well known dental chain has been in partnership with Cancer Research UK since 2016. During this time they have raised a staggering two hundred and fifty thousand pounds. Fundraising events have included sponsored walks, wearing funny outfits to work, and participating in Stand Up To Cancer.
Clinical Director of My Dentist, Nyree Whitley, shared his thoughts. “Mouth cancer rates are on the rise, so we’ve been working collaboratively with CRUK over the past few years to educate not only our patients but our teams and clinicians on the latest innovations in mouth cancer research.”
