A new Tooth Taxi is being employed by a Manchester dentist.
The introduction of a new Tooth Taxi by Kissdental clinic on Stanley Street in Manchester is helping to reduce patients’ costs during the economic downturn, it has been revealed.
Dentistry.co.uk reported the surgery is allowing patients to pre-book the taxi to ensure they make it to their appointments on time.
“Missed appointments push our charges up so, even though it costs us to provide transport, we save money in the long run. We can pass those savings on to our patients so everyone ends up happy,” commented Dr Kailesh Solanki.
Elsewhere, the Herald Tribune recently reported that the economic downturn has resulted in more people avoiding regular dental check-ups as they feel they cannot afford the costs.
However, Sarasota dentist Dr Marc Lefton noted this could be a case of misplaced priorities, as having regular check-ups could in fact reduce the overall cost of treatments, allowing people to avoid large bills when a problem arises.
