Teaching children about oral health is important.
People trying to get their kids to brush their teeth regularly and set them up to have good oral health routines for the rest of their lives might like a few pointers.
Aisha Sultan wrote in an article for the St Louis Dispatch that children should view dentistry as a healing experience and not one that is traumatic and therefore, parents should be patient with their kids about trips to the dentist and not make it stressful.
Furthermore, older kids should be encouraged to use a mouthwash, although make sure it is non-alcoholic, as some have been found to contain five times the amount found in beer.
She wrote: “It is important to start children with brushing and flossing early and creating a habit of brushing after sweets.”
Elsewhere, John E Peterson recently wrote in a blog for the Emporia Gazette that people of all ages should remember to floss daily in order to improve their oral health.
