A large batch of dental implants has been stolen in Israel and authorities believe it could now be being sold on the black market.
Dentistry.co.uk reported the thieves took the dental implants from an Adin Dental Implant Systems factory in Afula, with the medical devices estimated to be worth thousands of pounds.
Yossi Sharvit, a police commander in the city, told the website that a similar crime had taken place a few months ago, with links between the two incidents now being investigated.

A recent study entitled Dental Implants Market: Increasing Familiarity to Drive Growth showed that the market for dental implants is expected to double by 2015.
It noted that the procedure is often used to help people replace lost teeth, as unlike other tooth loss procedures – such as bridges or dentures – dental implants offer a more permanent solution.
