Dentist should be able to allay fears about dental veneers.Having a talk with your dentist can help to alleviate the fears associated with getting cosmetic dentistry work such as dental veneers done.

This is according to Dr John Reitz, who was writing in the Reading Eagle in response to a query from a reader.

She asked if it is normal to be afraid of getting in the dentist’s chair, to which Dr Reitz replied it is.

“Every dentist knows most patients are anxious and nervous about having dental work,” he commented.

The expert cited a study from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in his response, which showed that many people are apprehensive about cosmetic dentistry because of what the finished result may look like, or for fear of not liking their new smile.

However, he pointed out that good dentists will explain the entire procedure and may even be able to construct mock-ups to give an indication of the finished result.

“Discuss your concerns with your dentist and ask what options exist,” Dr Reitz urged.

Earlier this month, American Health and Beauty said dental veneers can close up gappy teeth quickly and easily.
