The dental implant market is expected to grow by about 12.2 per cent between now and 2014, it has been predicted.
In its report, Markets and Markets also forecasted the oral health biomaterials sector will increase by 10.5 per cent.
The study noted technological advancements were enabling dentists to treat their patients in a number of different ways and was driving the market forward.
Despite the economic downturn, the authors of the report stated "a wide range of implantable, aesthetic orthodontics for surgical procedures [and] digitalised dental imaging equipment" were to thank for the rise in the sector.
The research company will present its findings on the global dental and equipment market on September 17th.
