The soaring price of gold is resulting in the selling-off of dental implants. The soaring price of gold is resulting in the selling-off of dental implants by cash-strapped South Koreans, it has been reported.

According to AFP, South Koreans with unwanted gold teeth are selling their cosmetic dentistry work on the back of a sharp rise in the trading price of the precious metal.

Speaking to the news source, chief executive officer of metals dealer Gold Seven Nam Seung-Woo said that his firm is being sold "far more" gold teeth than usual and noted that over the past month, more than 100 people have sold his company gold teeth, crowns or fillings.

As well as this, the gold dealer explained he is receiving up to ten emails per day from people keen to find out how much their gold cosmetic dentistry is worth.

According to AFP, a gold crown can fetch up to 100,000 won (£55) depending on size and condition.

Gold dental implants are popular among celebrity cosmetic dentistry customers, with rapper Nelly one of the most famous wearers of precious metal teeth.
