He might have made his name on the back of being Rotten, but it seems enough is enough for The Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon; the fifty-six year old doesn’t want to live with painful tooth decay anymore and is shelling out a small fortune to fix his rotten teeth. The stage name ‘Johnny Rotten’ came about partly because of his decaying teeth and diseased gums.
The singer – who recently made an appearance on BBC’s Question Time – is said to be flying over to the US for extensive treatment to improve his smile. Not only is he hoping the LA dentists will be able to help replace several missing teeth, John is also trying to deal with serious gum infections that have plagued him for a long time. ‘I’m finally having the teeth that have been missing for so many years put in,’ The former ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!’ star explained to the media, adding that he had been warned about complications with infection; ‘I was told that just one more abscess could kill me.’ He said.
While John is in Los Angeles receiving treatment, Universal Music are working hard to release a box-set of the bands classic titles, including lost demos, bootlegs, and a vinyl edition of the punk anthem God Save The Queen.
