People who have healthy teeth but not necessarily a smile that is straight or especially white should consider cosmetic dentistry.
This is according to WorldDental.org, which said patients are often reluctant to have procedures such as teeth whitening because they are not essential.
However, it pointed out that a good sense of self-worth is just as important as healthy teeth, recommending that people take the plunge if it would make them happier.
The news provider said that invisible braces are especially popular at present, so those who have a crooked smile need not worry they will be the only ones with them fitted.
"These braces are so ubiquitous among the younger people that they have often come to be wanted by those who don't wear them," it added.
Myleene Klass is one famous face who recently completed treatment with invisible braces.
She was spotted last month by the Daily Mail as she showed off her new smile.
