Football can be dangerous game and Norwich winger Robbie Brady has found this out the hard way during a match against Premier League side Chelsea. The Republic of Ireland international was involved in a clash on the field with one of his own teammates and it resulted in him losing two of his teeth midway through the game, which ended in defeat for Norwich.
Brady and fellow Canary Gary O’Neil collided as they both jumped up to head the ball and O’Neil was also left with a fairly nasty cut as a result of the accident. Both players were given assistance on the pitch and there was obvious blood flowing; a picture even surfaced afterwards showing two of his teeth flying out of his mouth as the players clash. Manager Alex Neil said afterwards that O’Neil had suffered ‘a nasty gash’ when his teammate’s mouth crashed into his forehead and Brady ‘lost two teeth’ during the match.
There was also a problem before the game restarted for the second half, as fourth official Kevin Friend passed out in the dugout, injuring his head. He was left bloodied by the accident and received medical attention by the side of the pitch, delaying the start of the second half by around five minutes.
