A dentist from Richmond has won an award after she was nominated by a colleague.
Claire Lawson was recently named North East Young Dentist of the Year, organised by Dentistry Magazine.
The Darlington & Stockton Times reported the 34-year-old from Richmond was nominated by one of her co-workers and managed to clinch the prize following a number of glowing reports from her patients.
Ms Lawson told the publication: “Winning this award shows that the whole practice is committed to improving and that I am committed to improving myself also.”
She was the only female nomination this year and had to send in a portfolio of her work to a panel of judges at the magazine in order to be considered.
Elsewhere, Andrew Young BDS recently received the TC White prize for outstanding achievement in the Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons’ examinations from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
