Health-conscious parents hoping to ensure their child does not need to visit an emergency dentist could be interested in an innovative product.
Mother Dominique Tillen was named Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 after inventing a specialised toothbrush to improve a baby's oral health, Dentistry.co.uk reports.
Designed to promote healthy teeth and gums from an early age, Ms Tillen's Brush Baby range was originally launched in 2009.
Now sold in Waitrose, John Lewis, Mothercare and Sainsbury's, the product massages and soothes the gums as well as cleaning the first signs of teeth.
Ms Tillen said: "[The] products fill the gap in the market for appropriate child-centred products and are becoming increasing relevant today as young children's oral health becomes a real cause for concern with parents."
Kids Health recommends parents start promoting oral health at the sight of their child's first teeth by using a damp flannel to gently wash the tender gums.
