A Miss World contestant has flown half way across the world to undergo cosmetic dental treatment in Edinburgh, in preparation for the global beauty pageant. Dalreena Poonam Gill, 20, is hoping that the revolutionary high speed orthodontic system provided by Scottish dentist Bijui Krishnan will give her the edge in the competition, which takes places in London this December.
The Miss Singapore World title holder has flown to Scotland specifically to take advantage of Dr Krishnan’s pioneering Cfast brace system, which has been used by celebrities, including presenter Holly Willoughby and singer Alexandra Burke.
Dr Krishnan said in a press release to allmedicascotland.com that the Cfast system is gaining popularity across the world but Dalreena was referred by a colleague in Singapore as the treatment is ‘not yet fully up and running in South East Asia.’
The Cfast system is based around a virtually invisible brace that fits to the back of the teeth for a period of between three and six months.
Dr Krishnan said that ‘Dalreena’s a pleasure to work with, so I hope the treatment will help her chances of winning. Whatever the result I can say with certainty that she will be happier with her smile after just a few months with the Cfast system.’
