Her Majesty the Queen opens a new specialist dental facility situated within central London. The University College London Hospitals NHS building is part of The Royal National ENT Hospital and The Eastman Dental Hospital. The new facility has been designed to work with patients with complex or rare dental, ENT, hearing, and balance conditions. The state-of-the-art building can provide specialist care and treatment for many people. Not just in the London area but from further afield too.
During the visit, which took place yesterday, the Queen visited the adult dental area, as well as the implant centre. Patients who have undergone successful and life-changing treatments were in attendance so as to tell their stories. Furthermore, staff got the opportunity to showcase their area within the hospital and take her on tours of the facilities.
The centre also houses a paediatric dentistry area where the Queen visited children currently under the care of the hospital. It was reported that she spoke with one child about her experiences of orthodontic braces. “I had wires, luckily it was a very long time ago.” The visit was a huge success.
