Louis Walsh has described his cosmetic dentistry and surgery as "maintenance".
In an interview with the Telegraph, the X Factor judge explained he wants to look his best on television, especially as high-definition can reveal everything.
He also noted how Simon Cowell suggested he needed to undergo cosmetic dentistry and receive teeth whitening.
"I didn’t want the sparkly white, over-groomed look. The teeth are my own … now. I have the receipt," Walsh told the newspaper.
On this year’s series of the X Factor, the Irishman is mentoring the groups.
He will be looking after John & Edward, Miss Frank and Kandy Rain, trying to get them through the live shows without being voted off.
Yet the judge does not appear to be thrilled with his category.
He recently moaned at the Pride of Britain Awards that he is always given the hardest group to mentor, adding it is like the organisers of the show do not want him to win.
