A procedure that can treat gums before cosmetic dentistry work has been described as "fantastic".
Dr David Digiallorenzo from Philadelphia has been using PerioLase dental laser for three months.
As well as being suitable for removing overgrown tissue around teeth, it can create the ideal gum line prior to cosmetic dentistry procedures.
The oral health professional explained the technique is non-surgical and less painful than other methods.
He added the patient experience is improved because it is not very invasive, with a reduced healing time.
"The results are nothing short of fantastic," said Dr Digiallorenzo.
"Patient satisfaction is 100 percent, with no cutting, bleeding and suturing and no post-op pain."
Meanwhile, a fan of the television show America’s Next Top Model recently wrote in an article for the Examiner how an episode where the programme’s contestants received cosmetic dentistry was one of the highlights of the series.
