She’s probably better known for her strange fashion sense than her music these days, and Lady Gaga did not disappoint at the YouTube awards this week, as she looked unrecognisable in a leather shirt and wide-brimmed hat, complete with a bizarre grill covering her natural teeth. The singer took the ensemble from the cover of her new single Dope and decided to treat fans to a live version of the creepy character.
The 27-year-old revealed the image a few weeks ahead of the singles release, and media outlets were quick to comment on the outfit; which included an over-sized grill covered in black, unhealthy teeth. Gaga accessorised the scary costume with round sunglasses and a short black curly wig; although she seemed to have forgotten her trousers and teamed a leather shirt with a pair of platform boots and frilly socks.
As she was performing at the awards, Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – had to remove the grill in order to sing properly and she appeared to be very emotional during the performance of her new single. Rumours in the media have suggested that this is because of a recent split with boyfriend of two years Taylor Kinney.
