Rap artist Kanye West has revealed that he underwent cosmetic dentistry in order to improve his image.
In a recent interview with chat show host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres, the musician showed off his diamond and gold teeth implants, which he said completely replace his natural teeth.
"I just thought that diamonds were cooler," West said. "I guess there [are] just certain things that rock stars are supposed to do," he added.
DeGeneres jokingly replied: "You can't floss. So now you just get food stuck in your diamonds."
The College Dropout rap star attracted worldwide scorn after interrupting the acceptance speech of teenage country music singer Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
He said the negative press he garnered during the fall out forced him to take some time out of the spotlight and move abroad to regroup.
Not known for his modesty, West has previously courted controversy by proclaiming that he wants to be the next Michael Jackson, as he feels a responsibility to "bring real culture into pop culture".
