People who have found themselves avoiding smiling may do so no longer if they opt for Invisalign braces, it has been claimed.
Dr Branka Starcevic, who recently started using the technology at her practice in Australia, told Dentistry IQ that the braces are excellent and much less obvious than traditional metal varieties.
"This system of aligning teeth is a perfect solution for those who avoid smiling. Due to the fact that Invisalign are made specifically for every individual, they support teeth wonderfully," she added.
Dr Starcevic explained that the braces consist of a line of aligners which are worn for a fixed time – usually around two weeks – before being changed for a new set, pushing the teeth into the desired position gradually.
Earlier this month, Dr Stephen Grussmark from Miami said he chose Invisalign braces to help him deal with a patient's overbite, as they prepared the teenager for surgery much faster.
