A New Zealand woman who was travelling in the UK when she found out she had won the EuroMillions has said she would like to spend her winnings on several luxury trips abroad, as well as a new car, and a brand new set of teeth.
Great-grandmother Diana de Gillio found out last week that she had scooped the £1million prize after visiting a post office in Norwich and asking about the EuroMillions Mega Friday Draw. Calling herself ‘a born optimist’ Diana decided to purchase a ticket for five Lucky Dips and returned the following day to get her tickets checked. To her surprise, the last ticket to be checked produced two slips of paper from the machine and the shop assistant told her to get in touch with Camelot to confirm the big win.
Diana was in the UK celebrating her 70th birthday and now she says she will be travelling to Bali and Lombok with a friend she met on her travels in China. She explains that she will be going back to New Zealand at the end of the month to ‘help the family out’, then she has decided to buy a house, a new car, new glasses, and a finally a new set of teeth – which should hopefully last her as she spends her time zig-zagging across the globe.
