TV chef Gordon Ramsay might be better known for bearing his teeth in anger but he was all smiles when he left the Restaurant Story in South London this week, and it wasn’t hard for waiting photographers to catch a glimpse of his brand new, dazzlingly white teeth. Far beyond a simple whitening procedure, speculation immediately arose that the Kitchen Nightmares star has had veneer treatment to straighten his teeth and cover up dental stains – this sort of procedure could cost anywhere from £7,000 to £20,000, depending on the type of veneer selected for use.

Gordon’s new show Masterchef Junior is set to launch in the US next month, so it seems that the top chef has gone for a more ‘Hollywood’ approach to dental improvements, with the laminates providing a perfectly straight, white smile – that can’t be missed. Unfortunately, fans and critics probably need some time to get used to the drastic change and some have taken to news sites to comment on the chef’s new teeth, saying they ‘look so silly’ and asking why he felt the need to get veneers that are so straight and unnaturally white.

As well as improving his teeth, fitness fanatic Ramsay, 43, has signed up for the Ironman Championship in Hawaii this October – this includes a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run.
