Children who want to avoid emergency dentistry have been given a lesson into keeping their teeth and gums in good condition.
Staff at Highfields Primary School in Doncaster plan to educate pupils about the importance of oral hygiene, the Star reports.
The new campaign will give children aged between four and 11 years old advice about keeping their teeth healthy as well as the best products to use.
This comes after experts revealed children in the area had higher levels of tooth decay than other regions.
Director of public health in Doncaster Dr Tony Baxter said: "Our key message to pupils and parents is brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks and visit the dentist regularly, as often as they recommend."
KidsHealth.org recommends parents should start to provide dental care for their children before their teeth start to develop.
The organisation recommends rubbing a damp flannel over a baby's gums after they have been fed to prevent a build up of bacteria.
