Digital images help in the treatment process.
Making digital images of a person’s mouth can aid dental professionals in ensuring they create the perfect results for cosmetic dentistry patients, it has been claimed.
Dental professional Dr Jim Arnold wrote in a post for Valpolife.com that while X-rays can be beneficial for providing diagnostic information, digital images can provide a dentist with the ability to plan procedures ahead of appointments.
He said: “We can now capture excellent photos of one’s mouth, which greatly facilitates communication and patient understanding. These extraordinarily detailed photos are valuable diagnostic and educational tools.”
Elsewhere, Medical Device Link recently revealed many individuals who have had dental veneers fitted to their teeth have probably benefited from digital imaging techniques to make the treatment possible.
The publication noted over the past five years, digital imaging techniques have meant dental veneer design has been taken to a new level, making the treatment more long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing for the patient.
