Understanding Denture Costs

Dental health is crucial, and dentures offer an excellent solution for those with missing teeth. They not only restore the appearance of your smile but also improve your ability to eat and speak. However, the cost of dentures is a significant concern for many. Here, we will discuss the fees for dentures that you may expect to pay in the UK.

The cost of dentures can vary depending on the type of denture you choose and the materials used as well the complexity of the case. Typically, an NHS denture would cost in the region of £300 to £350, and private dentures can cost anywhere from £495 to £2500.

At Pearl Dental Clinic, we will not charge more than £995* for a general dentist acrylic one jaw denture. A partial one tooth denture is £495*. If you require a quick turnaround, we charge an express fee of £100 to £200* depending on the case.

The Choice of Materials

Dentures can be crafted from different materials, each with their own advantages. Acrylic – a popular choice – is durable and relatively affordable. There are also flexible dentures and metal based dentures that are more expensive. Even though some options may come with a higher price tag, they may not be suitable for your individual needs.

The quality of the dentures also influences the cost. While higher quality dentures may be more expensive, they typically offer a better fit, a more natural appearance, and greater lifespan.

We also offer premium overdentures through our Specialist Prosthodontist. These are typically supported by and attached to dental implants.

Comparing NHS and Private Dentures

NHS dentures are obviously more affordable, making them a practical choice for many. However, there are reasons why patients may also opt for private dentures. These can broadly be categorised into 2 main ones: quality, and speed.

Private dentures typically utilize higher quality materials and advanced crafting techniques, resulting in greater durability and longevity.

You may have to also wait a long time to receive your NHS dentures. With private dentures, you can opt for an express service and ask your dentist how long it will take. Typically at pearl dental clinic, we aim to offer the majority of our partial acrylic dentures within 24 hours, and sometimes even on the same day!

Managing Denture Costs
