Twilight-mania seems to have extended as far as the dental industry, as hoards of movie fans seek cosmetic dentistry to have fang-like teeth fitted.
US professionals have reported an increase in the number of people asking for vampire-style dental veneers to cover their teeth.
The procedure sees false canines shaped in to a long point attached on top of the original to give the wearer a smile not unlike the stars of the blockbuster films.
Enthusiasts have been paying around $200 (£130) for the treatment and it has allegedly become one of the most requested therapies of the summer.
Dr Dianna Wilde of Floss Dental in Houston remarked: “Amidst the highlight of the Twilight craze, vampire veneers have become a popular item amongst cosmetic dentists,” adding that the veneers are fully functional and individuals should have no trouble eating with them.
Chief executive of the British Dental Health Foundation Dr Nigel Carter recently warned the public that sugary foods coat the teeth and can cause damage to tooth enamel within an hour of eating.
