A teenager from the US has expressed her happiness after she was able to have dental veneers fitted to correct a yellow smile.
The 16-year-old from Idaho, known only as Kira, had been suffering from anaemia and had to have medical treatment as a result, KXLY.com reports.
However, the drugs turned her teeth yellow and she became reluctant to smile anymore.
A worker at the Wishing Star Foundation heard of her plight and arranged for her to have a full makeover including cosmetic dentistry to boost her confidence.
The patient even had dental veneers to give her a perfectly-aligned smile.
She enthused: "I was expecting to have X-rays taken of my teeth, but I wasn't expecting this!"
Newsmax.com states that dental veneers could be good to have because they are designed to last forever when made from porcelain and will be made to measure by an expert in cosmetic dentistry.
