Dental implants helped a woman after horse accidentDental implants were among the procedures that helped reconstruct a woman’s jaw after a horse accident.

When the animal kicked Alison Dukes in the face, it left her disfigured, reported the London Standard.

Describing the incident, the 49-year-old told the newspaper her jaw dropped, making her chin seem larger than normal.

As well as dental implants, the IT worker had her mouth pinned and a metal plate implanted.

Ms Dukes was quoted in the publication as saying the work the medical professionals did was "wonderful and clever".

"My friends and family all say I look the same and if I meet someone then they wouldn’t know what happened," she added.

The incident has not put her off horses and she does not beep when going through airport metal detectors, Ms Dukes concluded.

In other news, the Daily Mail recently reported X Factor judge Louis Walsh had undergone cosmetic dentistry prior to the new series of the singing contest.ADNFCR-2621-ID-19341646-ADNFCR
