Dental implants are a good way to alter the appearance of a smile and give people a fresh look, according to experts.
Dr Aamer Khan and Lesley Reynolds Khan explained in an article for the Daily Express that implants are often fitted to replace missing or severely decayed teeth.
They described the procedure, which has to be performed under anaesthetic, as a permanent option that can reduce the signs of aging.
“Implants can dramatically change the shape of your mouth and stop face shrinkage in old age,” the pair commented.
The specialists informed individuals considering the work that it takes between three and six months for the jaw bones to adapt to the titanium rods, after which the replacement teeth are fitted.
US company GlamSmile recently encouraged people to opt for dental veneers when looking to improve their appearance rather than using over-the-counter teeth whitening products, which were described as less effective.
