Wednesday afternoon was like any other for the social media giants, that is until Invisalign’s invasion of Twitter took over. Invisalign featured in the top trending list on that day, and no one knows why.

Bizarrely, the word ‘Invisalign’ was being used in completely unrelated posts, even a Tweet relating to the US president which was hashtagged Invisalign. This gained a lot of attention and re-Tweets. There was also an abundance of Tweets that just simply read ‘Invisalign’. Other tags were Tweets talking about why Invisalign was trending in such a way for apparently no reason at all.

All this media attention also prompted an array of memories, memes, and funny anecdotes from the general public. “My #Invisalign memory: Friend took the trays out at a restaurant & put them in a napkin. All food & the napkin thrown away at end of meal.” One thing is for sure, the makers of Invisalign will have no complaints about all the extra free publicity it has received over the last few days.
