A writer has said she thinks cosmetic dentistry is an investment worth making for those who need it.
Writing for the St Charles Patch, Charlotte Norgaard said her seven-year-old daughter will be getting braces soon in order to make room for large permanent teeth that have begun to emerge.
"Making sure my daughter has a straight and healthy smile is also something I consider an investment in her future, her self-esteem," she commented.
Ms Norgaard added that it could also be a way to prevent emergency dentistry in the long term, as the braces will stop further misalignment in the mouth.
Dr David Alpan, who is an orthodontist in Las Vegas, recently said that patients could be pleasantly surprised by invisible braces, as they may not be as expensive as popular opinion suggests.
He also stated that a great smile is a good investment worth making for anyone unhappy with their smile.
