Cosmetic dentistry has helped a woman who eroded the enamel from her teeth because of her addiction.
Only providing her first name, Crystal, she said her addiction of eating a household cleaner ruined her teeth, MyFox Detroit noted.
Makers of TV show My Strange Addiction asked dentist Dr Demi Kazanis, who runs an oral healthcare business in Michigan, if she could help repair the damage to Crystal's teeth.
It took months to repair and restore her teeth, which had a lot of infection and decay. But Crystal believes the cosmetic dentistry has improved her health.
"I feel better physically. You have no idea what bad teeth can do to your physical health, very detrimental. I look better. I speak better," the publication reported her as saying.
Dr Kazanis said she found traces of the household product in Crystal's remaining teeth.
Teeth whitening and other cosmetic dentistry can help people look younger, according to another dentist writing in the Gwinnett Citizen.
Dr John Simmons, who works in Georgia, asserted teeth darken with age and teeth whitening can be one of the simplest ways to take years off a smile.
