Brits can replicate the fabulous teeth of their favourite celebrities by taking a course of teeth whitening at their local dentist.
Local US paper the Edmonton Sun reported over the past five years, the number of teeth whitening practices taking place across the country has risen by 300 per cent and this is a trend which is now being replicated here in the UK.
Dr Ira Kirshen, president of the Ontario Dental Association, commented: "People are so busy today that if you ask them to do an in-home programme of bleaching their teeth twice a day for two weeks, they say, ‘Doc, work on me for an hour in the office’."
Meanwhile, US dentist Dr Michael Apa urged smokers to give up the habit before starting on a course of teeth whitening.
He noted the results will be greatly improved if smokers quit, while it will also be a more long-lasting procedure, as nicotine has been found to stain teeth and cause them to turn yellow over time.
