People who want to prevent emergency dentistry by maintaining good oral health could be interested in a new scheme from the British Dental Health Foundation (BDHF).
Joining forces with Wrigley, the organisation is planning to increase dental health education throughout local communities.
Businesses taking part in schemes to promote oral hygiene in disadvantaged areas will be given the opportunity to apply for funding through a new charity fund.
Organisations could be given access to the expertise of staff at the BDHF, as well as a £100,000 investment from the Wrigley's Tooth Fairy Fund.
Dr Nigel Carter, chief executive of the foundation, invited oral health teams from across the country to bid for a share of the money in order to continue their work.
He said: "The fund is good news, especially in a period when oral health education is likely to be affected by the slowdown in public spending."
The Lancaster London Hotel recently hosted the Dental Awards ceremony, which recognises dental health professionals with the highest standards of oral healthcare.
