Elderly people in London may be among those who find they require dental implants.
A new report by Frost & Sullivan explained an aging baby boomer population is fuelling the cosmetic dentistry market.
It added older individuals also have a higher level of expectation about medical care.
Thanks to innovative technologies – such as lasers and dental implants – the demand for procedures is easier to meet.
"As people age, there is a greater demand for dental restorations and implants, bolstering the dental implants market worldwide," the paper stated.
The research also suggested patients in developed countries – such as the UK – may find it a lot easier to access oral healthcare than those in poorer locations.
Further demand for dental implants in London may be driven by a fad that has been recently spotted overseas.
AFP reported people in South America are getting their gnashers pulled out, all in the name of fashion.
Speaking to the news provider, a dentist said he had to make thousands of dental implants for these individuals to wear on special occasions and to work.
