A man in America has made this Halloween the most memorable ever for his girlfriend by asking her to be his wife, using an engagement ring made out of his extracted wisdom tooth. Lucas Unger had his tooth removed when he was younger and he decided that his now-fiancée Carlee Leifkes deserved something more distinctive than the more conventional diamond engagement ring.
Carlee spoke to Buzzfeed News about why they chose the unusual jewellery to cement their engagement; ‘When we’d spoken about it, I’d said that diamonds are so overrated.’ She added that she didn’t need a diamond to know how dedicated her man was, as he had already made the move from Canada to LA to be with her.
The ring was made out of a wisdom tooth that Lucas had removed years earlier and he used it to propose on Halloween. His unconventional approach was a thrill for his fiancée, as she explained on Facebook that she ‘Can’t wait to be a weirdo’ with her husband-to-be, dancing their way through life to Black Sabbath. The couple never identified as ‘traditional’ and decided that the unusual piece of jewellery reflected that; Carlee exclaimed ‘Here I am with the coolest ring I’ve ever seen in my life!’
