At Pearl dental clinic, our specialists use the latest Global dental microscope to carry out a range of dental treatments such as root canal treatment, dental crowns, dental veneers, composite bonding, dental bridges and white fillings.
Using the microscope is a game changer in dentistry as it magnifies your tooth by 5-20 times and its powerful LED lights increase light illumination by 10 fold, making tiny areas deep within your tooth very visible for our specialists to see and to treat.
This means that our specialists can locate very small root canals during root canal treatment that would otherwise be missed and cause future painful infection. It also allows our specialists to check teeth that are being crowned, veneered, bridged, bonded or filled to ensure that the margins of those restorations are perfect and that all tooth decay has been removed.
The microscope helps us in diagnosis too by allowing us to locate hairline fracture lines within teeth, which although very painful for patients, can be easily missed by the unaided dentist eye.
The dental microscope is also very useful in detecting tooth decay as it enlarges very small lesions and along with the near infrared function of the iTero 5D digital scanner and digital x-rays it helps us in diagnosis of early tooth decay.
Using the dental microscope also means that our specialists can see sound tooth tissue more clearly and therefore they can be more conservative of your healthy tooth tissue and the scope allows them to practice minimally invasive dentistry.
Carrying out dentistry under a dental microscope is not the same as carrying out normal dentistry and years of further dental training is required. Our dental specialists undergo 4 years of additional postgraduate training in order to master the use of the dental microscope. They also have 10 years experience in practicing dentistry under the dental microscope.
Pearl Dental Clinic is open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm. If you wish to have minimally invasive dentistry carried out under the dental microscope, please call us on 0208 547 9997 or book an appointment online with our dental specialist.
