A woman from Tennessee has won tens of thousands of dollars' worth of cosmetic dentistry treatments in a competition, it has been reported.
According to local news source The Tennessean, Kayla Pocan won $30,000 (£18,000) of cosmetic dentistry work after entering Nashville's annual Most Wanted Smiles contest.
She confessed to the judges that her teeth were rotten and that she had braces which were falling apart. Miss Pocan also admitted that she was so conscious of her bad teeth, she would melt down white wax and apply it to her mouth to cover them.
Her story appealed to those running the contest and she was given the work by local cosmetic dentist Michael Atchley. Now, she is the proud owner of a stunning white smile.
Work completed included 12 teeth crowns, two dental veneers, the removal of her wisdom teeth and "an uncountable number of fillings".
Dental veneers are a great option for covering unsightly teeth or hiding a chip or other type of tooth damage, with the dental solution favoured by many famous Hollywood faces.
