Wisdom Teeth InfectionWhen a wisdom tooth becomes infected it is important to seek a prompt dental assessment.

An infection can develop due to the wisdom tooth being blocked by the existing teeth. Also, when the wisdom tooth is unable to erupt correctly bacteria can form in gum pockets and flaps. Another issue that can arise is extreme sensitivity. If a wisdom tooth is trying to erupt and applying pressure to the neighbouring tooth, sensitivity can develop. This side effect can be very unpleasant. If you are suffering from wisdom tooth complications you can call the clinic on 0208 547 9997. We are open until 10pm, seven days a week.

Wisdom Teeth Infection – Treatment

Treatment of the infection with antibiotics may be the first option. However, it may be that the wisdom tooth is causing too many complications and will, therefore, need removing. The tooth will either be removed by a general extraction or a surgical extraction. A surgical extraction is most likely needed as they are often difficult to reach. For surgical extractions, we have experienced dentists who can ensure expert treatment for all kinds of dental issues. It is important to receive prompt treatment for wisdom tooth infections as other complications can form and the infection could spread.

For patients who feel nervous about receiving treatment, we can offer IV sedation. This procedure is available for all appointments, general or emergency. Sedation is safe and effective. If you would like to discuss this option further then our reception team are waiting to take your call.

If you need wisdom teeth treatment or any other general dental care please call the clinic on 0208 547 9997. In addition, we provide a convenient dental emergency walk-in service if the issue is causing you pain or distress. We also offer a full range of cosmetic treatments to give you beautiful, healthy teeth, skin, and lips. Treatments include teeth whitening, dental veneers, Botox, and Dermal Fillers.
