Dentists have said they are seeing increasing numbers of patients coming in for Invisalign braces in order to correct their smiles non-invasively.
At the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry conference being held in London this week, healthcare practitioners said they are now performing 50 per cent fewer “extensive smile makeovers” than was the case in 2008.
Instead, people are opting to alter their own teeth subtly, with invisible braces like Invisalign proving especially popular.
Indeed, 22 per cent of dentists said they are now using the brand to complement existing orthodontic treatments for patients.
Last month, Invisalign announced it will soon be launching its G3 range, which features new aligners and a precision cuts option. It hopes this will improve treatment for both patients undergoing cosmetic dentistry and their dentists.
Myleene Klass is among the celebrities to have recently revealed she wears invisible braces to correct her slightly out-of-line teeth.
