Providers of cosmetic dentistry procedures in Bangalore are doling out advice to their patients on ways they can help the environment while carrying out their daily dental hygiene routine.
Built around the theme “good for you and for the earth”, the programme sees dentists offer tips to their customers and wear green-themed badges to spark debate, reports Daily News & Analysis.
Among the recommendations is to conserve water while brushing teeth by switching off the tap and to use toothbrushes for the recommended amount of time rather than throwing them away after a few weeks.
Those carrying out cosmetic dentistry procedures in the city are also set to hold up their end of the bargain by using digital x-ray machines and utilising CLF bulbs rather than spotlights.
Dr Asish Shetty, a professor at the Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, remarked: “We are aiming to promote the concept of green dentistry. There are many practices in this profession that need to be changed to achieve this goal.”
Earlier this month, cosmetic dental surgeon and implantologist Dr Shreyank Patel told the Times of India that cosmetic dentistry can help ordinary people to have “dazzling smiles”.
