A recent business venture may well benefit cosmetic dentists and their patients.

The dental implant maker Astra Tech has announced a strategic alliance with Dental Wings.

Starting early next year, the partnership will allow the latter company to remotely transfer scans to the former’s design and manufacturing centres.

These will then be used to produce Atlantis abutments, which are made for each individual patient.

President and chief executive officer of the Astra Tech Group Peter Selley said the venture would help to increase the profitability and efficiency of dental laboratories.

“This new partnership is an important step in our continued efforts to further enhance our customers’ experience with Atlantis abutments, while reducing costs and turnaround times,” he asserted.

Established in 1948, Astra Tech develops, manufactures and markets advanced medical devices and dental implants worldwide.

Dental Wings specialises in creating 3D dental scans and computer aided design software for the oral health market.
