Everyone could now have that pearly white smile that is so prevalent in the media, thanks to a new product launched by Boots; the £49.99 kit can be used at home and it is thought to improve enamel dramatically in just half an hour.
The price is a fraction of the price of clinical whitening treatment and the new product is already incredibly popular after the shop was inundated with pre-orders for Luster Pro Light. The product has been imported across the pond from the US and although it is cheaper than a professional whitening procedure, it uses similar technology to achieve great results.
Clinical trials involving 240 people found that a whopping 86% said that their teeth were noticeably whiter after just 30 minutes.
Luster Pro is the first home whitening kit to use a blue curing light to whiten the teeth; the light heats up the non-peroxide gel and speeds up the whitening process. According to the manufacturers, the kit is gentler on the gum tissue and this makes the treatment more comfortable over all – patients can sometimes experience soreness or sensitivity after using home whitening kits that include a bleaching tray. The process should be carried out at least ten times to get the optimum whiteness.
Luster Pro is due to hit the shelves, both in store and online, later this month.
