Singer Lady Gaga has posted a picture of herself after undergoing wisdom tooth surgery; the 28-year-old was photographed in bed looking glum and clutching a soft toy after the teeth were extracted. The singer’s 40 million Twitter followers saw the post and accompanying caption, which read ‘Chipmunk Cheeks. Wisdom Teeth out before tour. I can’t eat. I’m gonna put some meatballs in a blender.’ Although she was struggling with the painful molars earlier this month, she still managed to complete the final performance on the stage at New York’s Roseland Ballroom, which closed its doors on April 7th after 56 years.
Gaga had earlier tweeted a picture from before the procedure and mentioned her medication, saying ‘Wisdom teeth out. P-p-Percocet p-p-Percocet’. Fans were quick to offer their support, wishing the singer well, eager for a fast recovery ahead of her Artpop Ball tour, which starts in May.
This is not the first time Gaga, real name Stefani Germanotta, has had problems with her health right before crucial tour dates; she was forced to cancel the North American leg of her Born This Way tour in February 2013, after suffering a hip injury. Her new tour is set to include dozens of shows in North America and she will then travel to Europe and Asia, with the tour scheduled to conclude on November the 10th.
