Patients are advised to wear Invisalign aligners for 20-22 hours every day to make sure they can achieve the best results in the shortest time possible, only removing the fixtures to eat, clean and brush their teeth.
During the Invisalign process, our dentists will provide you with new aligners every 6-8 weeks to guide your teeth into their ideal position over a gradual basis.
Over all, the Invisalign process will take between 7-12 months – depending on the severity of the misalignment. Fixed braces usually require 18-24 months to complete the treatment.
After the initial consultation and examination of the teeth and gums takes place, we will create an impression of your teeth as well as taking a number of photographs of your smile from a series of different angles.
Using this data, a 3D model (Clincheck) is created at the Invisalign laboratory in USA using CT scanners. The Clincheck videos will show a simulation of the straightening process from the current position to the desired result. We then show you the Clincheck videos, which will show you in detail your invisalign plan and how your smile will look once the treatment is completed.
Once you approve your Clincheck videos, Invisalign aligners will then be constructed matching the plan, making the fixtures custom-made for each individual and allowing them to be changed every two weeks as the teeth begin to move. You then change your Invisalign aligners yourself every 2 weeks but come to see us every 6-8 weeks so that we can monitor your treatment.
In addition, we will provide you with instructions on how to use the aligners, including guidance on wearing them for 20-22 hours every day – which is vital if the Invisalign treatment is going to be effective in the shortest time possible.
