People choosing to undergo cosmetic dentistry to reshape their gums or teeth will see their smile greatly improved, according to an expert.
Altering the dimensions of a person's teeth or gums can lead to a more attractive smile, said Kirk Kimmerling, a cosmetic dentist from a clinic in the US.
Teeth reshaping can improve cracked or crooked teeth caused by grinding. However, minor damage can also be reversed using the technique, which in most cases does not require the use of an anaesthetic.
Gums can also be trimmed to create a more attractive and well balanced smile, with experts recommending that the tissue at the front should be at the same height as that of the canines.
Celebrities such as Jodie Marsh and Cheryl Cole have opted for cosmetic dentistry to give them a dazzling smile.
Dr Kimmerling advised people to ensure their teeth and gums are healthy before choosing to undergo cosmetic dental procedures.
