The Botox procedure is one of the safest available for the reduction or softening of wrinkles. Botox is used to treat frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead wrinkles, and lines around the eyes (Crow’s Feet).
Botox can also be used to treat lines around the mouth and those on the neck. A few tiny injections are administered to the skin which calm the muscles and thus, allows for a smoother, more relaxed appearance. The effect may take three to five days to appear.
The overall advantages of treating wrinkles with Botox
Reduces or eliminates wrinkles without surgery.
Corrects underlying muscles (as opposed to the skin’s surface as peels do)
Provides dramatic effects which are customizable and reversible.
No sedation or anesthesia is needed, however, you may choose to have the area numbed with an anesthetic cream or a cold pack prior to injecting.
Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Most patients compare the sensation to a pin prick and treatment takes only a few minutes.
How does Botox work?
First, a few drops of Botox are injected (with a tiny needle) into the muscle that creates the wrinkle. When Botox is injected into a muscle, it blocks the nerve impulse from reaching that area, and as a result, the muscle weakens. As the muscle weakens, the skin overlying the muscle relaxes and the wrinkles in the skin gradually soften and often disappear. If a specific muscle can’t move, it can’t cause a wrinkle. Botox treatment does not affect normal facial expressions.

What can Botox be used for?
Frown, Worry, Laugh, and Bunny Lines
Wrinkles around the eyes (Crow’s Feet)
Brow Lift or Brow Asymmetry
Drooping Mouth Corners
Lip Wrinkles
Neck Banding
Severe underarm sweating
Reduces horizontal creases on the forehead
Botox-Crows Feet
Botox-Bunny Lines
Are there any side effects?
Side effects of Botox are minimal, with slight discomfort upon injection of the solution. This may be minimized by the use of Emla cream one hour prior to the injection. Bruising at the sight of injection may occur but is not common.
One percent of patients develop a slight lowering or ptosis of one eyelid and, also rarely, asymmetry of facial expression. These effects are temporary and may not even be noticed by the patient. You may resume normal activity immediately. You may see a marked improvement in the moderate to severe frown lines between your brows within days. Improvement may continue for as long as a month, and could last up to 5 months. After that, the muscle action returns. When frown lines reappear, a repeat treatment is necessary to regain the results.

Botox has been safely and successfully used in wrinkle therapy for almost 10 years. It has been approved by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) for neurological disorders. In the amounts used for wrinkle therapy, the only possible side effects are temporary and localized to the area of injection.

A guide to Botox injections Botox injections are becoming increasingly popular among image-conscious individuals who are looking to ward off the initial signs of ageing. The substance has become commonplace among celebrities and normal people alike and can provide effective results that will have a significant impact on lifestyle when administered by a professional. Initially approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for cosmetic use in 2002, Botox is now available in a high number of dental practices for facial rejuvenation, which provides the consumer with a non-surgical facelift. The majority of users utilise the substance to reduce the appearance of expression lines including those on the forehead and around the eyes, which are caused when overactive muscle movement wears away the skin’s natural collagen. Although its safety was previously doubted, Botox has received approval for the reduction of wrinkles in the face when injected into the muscles in minute quantities. It relaxes the affected area of the face, allowing users to enjoy a wrinkle-free complexion during later life. What is Botox? The substance, which is also used to treat a number of medical conditions, is a purified protein that is produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium and can temporarily reduce lines caused by the over expression of particular muscles. Most commonly used by individuals between the ages of 18 and 65, Botox injections are administered using a small needle that is inserted directly into the area that causes the expression lines. The treatment usually takes between ten and 20 minutes to carry out and, apart from a minor scratching sensation, is painless. Additionally, the lack of recovery time needed when receiving Botox injections is among the primary reasons for its soaring popularity. Patients usually see the effects of the procedure in the next three to four days, but will need to book a follow-up appointment after approximately four months in order to enjoy their line-free complexion for a longer period of time. How does the substance work? The appearance of lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows and around the eyes emerge over a lengthy timeframe as a result of the constant muscle activity that occurs when individuals smile or frown. Undergoing Botox injections will theoretically reduce the movement that occurs in these areas when making an expression by blocking the signals between the nerves and injected muscles. This course of action will reduce the activity of the muscles through temporary paralysis. Are the results immediate? Within two to three days, patients will notice a significant improvement to the smoothness of their complexion and will progressively reduce the appearance of frown lines for up to one month. Regular Botox treatments are required to maintain a wrinkle-free look for as long as possible. It is usually recommended image-conscious individuals undergo this procedure every three or four months as the wrinkles will begin to resurface after this period of time. How will I look after the treatment? While the results take approximately three days to develop, Botox treatment does not alter the overall appearance of the face or make people look completely expressionless. Depending on how much of the substance is administered, patients will maintain the ability to frown and look startled, but now they will not have to worry about creases appearing between their eyebrows. Is the procedure painful? Although it is not as extensive as cosmetic surgery, the administration of Botox injections can cause mild pain and discomfort for individuals. However, the small needle means any sharp sensations are kept to a minimum. Many practitioners numb the area with a local anaesthetic cream prior to the treatment in order to reduce the feeling even more, which could provide peace of mind for those who were previously worried about the procedure. Those people who select dermal fillers in the lips to reverse the signs of ageing will find the bodypart is placed under local anaesthetic, which will numb the pain even more. One of the primary benefits of Botox is the fact it allows on-the-go members of the public go back to their daily routine with minimal discomfort straight after the injections are given. Where should I go to receive Botox injections? People looking to improve their quality of life with this effective course of action are urged to ensure they visit a qualified practitioner when seeking the treatment. Many people have found out the hard way that when administered by an untrained individual, the after effects may not be as good as expected and the risk of infection is increased. It is advisable for prospective patients to seek a professional with a number of years of experience in this area, while many argue dentists are the best people to visit. This is due to the regularity they perform injections to delicate areas. Is everyone suited to this course of action? Botox injections should not be administered to people with a local infection in the area the treatment is set to be performed, as well as those with any known allergies to any of the ingredients in the formulation. Individuals with neuromuscular disorders including myasthernia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may also be at risk of severe side effects and should certainly avoid this cosmetic procedure. Are there any side effects to Botox injections? The most common effects that occur following this method of anti-ageing are temporary drooping of the eyelids, as well as nausea. Additionally, some people may experience localised pain, inflammation, soreness, swelling, redness, bleeding and bruising following the procedure, but this is likely to pass within a limited number of days. What is the cost of the procedure? The increasing accessibility of Botox injections means the course of action is becoming less costly as it is made available to regular members of the public. Its price usually depends on the practitioner carrying out the treatment, with more experienced professionals commonly charging more. Can Botox be used to treat medical conditions? Although it is more widely accepted for its cosmetic uses, Botox can also be utilised to provide relief for patients suffering from a wide range of medical conditions including muscle spasms in the face and has been administered for children with cerebral palsy. Emerging medical research has also identified the substance can be used to treat migraines in people who are suffering from the chronic headaches on a regular basis.
A guide to Botox Remaining fashion and beauty-conscious in later life is becoming increasingly common among both women and men, as celebrities and other high profile figures manage to look significantly younger than their years. For this reason, anti-ageing procedures – including Botox injections – have emerged as hugely popular solutions for those people looking to prevent the earliest signs of lines and wrinkles that develop on the face over time. In recent years, professional practitioners have launched the use of the treatment in doctors and dentists across the globe, which has made it much easier for self-conscious individuals to seek a clear, glowing complexion. Botox was initially approved for cosmetic use by the US Food and Drug Administration in 2002 and is now available in a number of practices for facial rejuvenation, which provides the customer with a non-surgical facelift. Most users utilise the substance to reduce the appearance of expression lines – which are primarily found on the forehead and around the eyes – that are caused as a result of overactive muscle movement that wears away the skin’s natural collagen. Botox has received approval for the removal of wrinkles in the face when injected into the muscles in tiny quantities, despite previous doubts about its safety. It works by relaxing the affected area of the face, allowing its users to enjoy a smooth and stunning complexion as they approach later life. What is Botox? Having recently been approved in some countries for the treatment of a number of medical conditions, Botox is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium and works to temporarily reduce lines caused by the over expression of particular models. Usually utilised among adults aged between 18 and 65, the injections are carried out with the use of a small needle that is inserted directly into the source of the expression lines by a registered professional. Apart from a slight scratching sensation, the procedure is largely painless – as well as quick – taking approximately 20 minutes to administer. For this reason, its lack of recovery time means it is extremely popular among those with on-the-go lifestyles. Patients generally notice the effects of the Botox injections within the next three to four days, but may need to book a follow-up appointment after approximately four months to allow them to enjoy a wrinkle-free complexion for a longer timeframe. How does the substance work? Lines and wrinkles between the eyebrows and around the eyes can emerge at any age due to the constant muscle activity that occurs when individuals frown, smile and speak. Individuals who have undergone the procedure – if carried out by a registered professional – will maintain the ability to frown and look startled without the worry of creases between their eyebrows. Patients who select dermal fillers in the lips to reverse the signs of ageing will also be placed under local anaesthetic. One of the primary benefits of Botox is that it allows busy members of the public to go back to their daily routine with minimal recovery time needed. Is Botox suitable for everyone? Botox injections should not be administered to people with a local infection in the area the treatment is set to be given, while those with known allergies to any of the ingredients found in the substance. Additionally, members of the public with neuromuscular disorders including myasthernia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome should certainly avoid this course of action. Where can I go to receive Botox injections? While many individuals may view Botox injections as a simple procedure to improve a person’s appearance, many would view it as a way to improve their quality of life. Feeling self-conscious can leave many in fear of going out and showing their personalities in social situations. The increasing popularity of the procedure has, therefore, seen an influx in the places people can go to receive this course of action. For this reason, it is vital that prospective patients visit a qualified practitioner when seeking the treatment. In many cases, those who have undergone the injections from an untrained administrator have parted with their money for sub-standard results, while the risk of the infection is raised significantly. It is advised for members of the public considering this treatment to visit a professional with many years experience in this area, with some recommending attending an appointment with a dentist. This is due to the regularity they perform injections to delicate areas. Are there any side effects to Botox injections? Many people will experience temporary drooping of their eyelids, as well as a mild case of nausea, following this method of anti-ageing. Others could feel localised pain, soreness, inflammation, swelling, redness, bleeding or bruising following the procedure, but this is likely to pass after a limited number of days. How much do Botox injections cost? The increasing accessibility means this procedure is becoming less expensive as it has been made available to more members of the public. Its cost is usually dependent on the experience of the practitioner and the location it is administered.
just a big thank you to you all.. had my dental work carried out yesterday and am so happy with the results!
The dentist was brilliant and really helpful, offered alternatives to the treatment I originally thought I thought I needed (and cheaper, not ripping me off as other professionals would!) The whole service was very goo, questions and emails always answered and the online chat service was a big help too so thanks!
Looks awesome and am VERY happy.. I would recommend to anyone considering cosmetic dental treatment!

A colleague recommended the Pearl Dental Clinic to me and I am very impressed with the service I received. The treatment options were carefully explained and I was advised on the most suitable procedure rather than the most expensive. When it came to perfecting my newly fitted veneers Dr Vahid Motahar was not satisfied until these were perfect. The staff are friendly and competent and I would not hesitate to recommend the clinic.

For as long as I can remember I have hated my teeth and smile so decided to seek help. I found Pearl Dental on the internet and arranged an appointment. I was initially very nervous but Dr Vahid explained all my options and showed me examples of options available. I decided that lumineers were best for me. After a few more consultations and teeth whitening at home I was ready to have my 6 lumineers fitted in April. The process was relatively pain-free and in under 3 hours my smile had been transformed. My new 'smile, has not only had a positive cosmetic effect but also a mental effect - I feel happy when posing for pictures, talking to clients etc.
Dr Vahid and his team are truly wonderful and treated me with the most care and attention. Nothing seemed to be a problem and the time and consideration taken not just operating on me but talking to me is something I have never experienced with another dentist. This is the start of I hope a great relationship with the clinic. Thank You!
Best wishes

Dear Mr Motahar,
Stephanie Wilson
Last April you performed miracles on my teeth and transformed them with a seemingly simple procedure involving fillings on the bottom of the front four top teeth. i just wanted to let you know that I am still uttterly delighted with my new smile and it remains as good as ever over a year later. Thanks again for the work that you did.
Yours sincerely,

I came in on Saturday 31st October 2009 and had my teeth zoom whitened by your dentist Harshdeep Kaur. I just wanted to say thank you very much for the way I was looked after. It was a very professional service and I will recommend your services to all of my friends.
Even though I am not local to the area your prices were very reasonable and you have saved me around £200 if I was to have gone to my local dentist. My teeth are now so much whiter! Thank you very much!
Best wishes,

Dear Dr. Ehsan Esfahani
Jennifer
I would just like to thank you for the excellent treatment I had at your clinic with Dr. Ehsan Esfahani recently.
I didn't use your recommended endontist in Harley St as this was rather a long way to travel. I did however use Dr Fiona McMichan in Farnham Surrey, tel 01252 726766. I received first class treatment at her clinic and would have no hesitation in recommending her to others. I don't know whether it would be useful for you to keep her details for other patients who live nearer this area Kind regards Jennifer

I have had a truly fantastic experience at Pearl Dental Clinic. I have had three white fillings, a teeth cleaning and a lingual frenectomy carried out. Dr Vahid Motahar carried out all of this treatment in the most gentle way and therefore the whole treatment was virtually pain free. I am now very happy with my healthier teeth and mouth. I would like to say a big thank you to the fabulous Dr. Motahar and his team.

I am delighted with the work done at the Pearl Dental Clinic and wish to express deep gratitude and thanks to Dr Mohsen Esfahani, Dr Dejan Dragisic and the staff at the clinic.
Upon finding Pearl on the web I was immediately impressed by the professional highly informative website. After putting through the first tentative email hoping for an appointment I was again pleasantly surprised by the swift response, examination and commencement of work. The administrators at the clinic are polite, patient, professional, understanding and welcoming as are the dental support staff whose chair-side work is precise and efficient.
I presented in late 2010 with quite upsetting dental problems. Dr Mohsen Esfahani has a manner that immediately puts one at ease. He shows and talks concisely through what he has seen, discusses a range of options and explains their pros and cons. Just being treated as an intelligent adult rather than a mouth that needs working on is very pleasing. His considerate and thorough manner is to be highly recommended and his dental work is beautiful, caring tooth restoration. My other, more surgical work, was done by Dr Dejan Dragisic who like Dr Esfahani I cannot praise enough. He is another warm, patient specialist who empathises with his patient and explains the procedure to be done and what to expect then works to produce results that are essentially beautiful and highly functional dental solutions.
Another thing, probably of much importance to anyone visiting a dentist, is I found even the most involved procedures were relatively painless. The anesthetic system the clinic uses does indeed help make things comfortable.
For the first time in years, thanks to the dentists at Pearl Dental Clinic, I can actually give a full and confident smile. All in all I have no hesitation in recommending the Pearl Dental Clinic and my faith in them is such that I would travel for hours for an appointment rather than go elsewhere.

Shortly before Christmas last year I was in severe pain with toothache. Unfortunately due to some unpleasant experiences I had not been to the dentist regularly for some time. My usual dentist was unable to see me urgently but after some research on the internet I found Pearl Dental Clinic. I phoned at once and actually spoke to Dr Zahra Esfahani who was able to see me almost immediately.
Since that first visit I have undergone a course of treatment which has improved the condition and look of my teeth including cleaning and the fitting of a denture. The Pearl website states that Dr Zahra Esfahani is a specialist with nervous patients I can confirm that this is definitely the case and that I will now be seeing Dr Esfahani regularly, she has restored my faith in dentists! I cannot recommend Pearl Dental highly enough.
Thanks

Once more I am so grateful for my treatment today (10th August) The two front teeth you so painlessly removed, replacing with a small temporary plate, have given me absolutely no pain or discomfort whatsoever. My mouth feels completely normal with no pain killers needed at all.
No one believes that I have had anything done. You provide such a kind, caring and excellent service for us "whimps", I dread the day that you move on or need a change of venue. Thank you so very, very much.
