We always endeavour to remove as little of the tooth enamel as possible while still achieving a great cosmetic result. We also provide Composite veneers that do not need any tooth shaving at all.

How are dental veneers fitted?

A thin layer of the tooth surface is usually shaved off, however, with Lumineers and Emax this will be minimal. The perfectly fitting veneer is then adhered to the front of the tooth. We provide:

What is the procedure for having ceramic dental veneers?

Clinical assessment and an X-ray of the tooth is taken. A trial smile is provided so that you can see your smile design before the treatment is carried out.
Preparation of the tooth is carried out where necessary and digital scans are sent to the lab. A temporary veneer is then fitted. We are one of the few clinics in the UK that use the iTero 5D digital scanning system. The iTero handheld wand takes a digital, 3D image of your teeth instead of taking traditional impressions and moulds. The digital image is electronically sent to the dental laboratory immediately to speed up the process of veneer manufacture.
The Itero Digital Scanner helps eliminate patient gagging which is the problem with traditional impressions and moulds taken for construction of dental veneers in the past.
The veneer fitting is done with high strength resin cement once the veneers have returned from the lab. The resin cement provides a chemical bond between the tooth and the veneers. In order to increase the bond strength between the tooth and the veneers, we use the AquaCare Air Abrasion system which uses high pressure Aluminium Oxide particles to create an additional mechanical bond for the veneers. This significantly reduces the risk of the veneer debonding in future.
