A throbbing toothache can be extremely painful and can severely impinge on day to day living. This can be exacerbated when a toothache occurs over the festive period and you do not know who to contact. Here at Pearl Dental Clinic, we offer extended opening hours. The clinic is open every day right up until 10pm. We are also open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Years Day. If you are suffering from a dental emergency we are here to help you get back on your feet again.
Throbbing Toothache
In the meantime, there are other things you can do to manage a toothache at home while you get ready for your appointment. These include:
- You can take over the counter pain relievers such as paracetamol and Ibuprofen (as long as you are not allergic to any of the ingredients and you are normally allowed to take this kind of medication).
- Place an ice pack on the affected area. The ice pack should be wrapped in a towel or other type of material so the ice is not making direct contact with your skin.
- Apply clove oil to a cotton wool ball and place on the affected area. This is one of nature’s natural anaesthetics.
- Avoid eating or applying pressure to the area. Also, avoid hot and cold drinks.
If you are suffering from a toothache or any other dental emergency please call us on 0208 547 9997. We are here throughout the festive period to help and assist you with expert treatment.
